Asian Recipes - Fish Sauce with Chilies Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 1/4 cup/60 ml fish sauce

  • red and green chilies, to taste

  • 3 to 4 tbsp/45 to 60 ml fresh lime juice

  • Salt and sugar to taste

Serves 4


Method:

  1. In a mortar and pestle or with the side of a knife, crush the garlic to a rough paste, Transfer the paste to a small bowl.

  2. Slice the chilies on the diagonal and add them to the garlic in the bowl. Stir in the fish sauce and lime juice.

  3. Taste and adjust seasoning, adding salt, sugar or more fresh lime juice as desired.
