Ingredients

2 tablespoons
plain flour
-
1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon
freshly ground pepper

700g/1 1/2lb lean steak (cut
into strips)

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
-
400ml/14fl
oz beef stock
-
225ml/8fl oz
canned tomatoes with juice
-
1 medium onion
(sliced)
-
1 garlic clove (finely
chopped)
-
1 large green
pepper (cut into strips)

1 1/2 teaspoons
Worcestershire sauce
Serves 6
Method:

Mix the flour, salt and pepper and coat the steak
strips with mixture.

Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Brown the meat
on all sides and drain off any fat.

Add the broth,
tomato juice (reserving the tomato flesh for later),
onion and garlic. Cover and simmer for about 1 hour
until the meat is tender.

Add the tomato, green pepper strips and
Worcestershire sauce. Stir-fry for 4 to 5 minutes.
Serve with rice.
