Recipes - Cheese and Tomato Rolls
Ingredients

400 g/14 oz/3 1/2
cups plain (all-purpose) flour
-
50 g/2 oz/1/2 cup
rice flour
-
45 ml/3 tbsp
baking powder
-
10 ml/2 tsp salt
-
5 ml/1 tsp mustard
powder
-
5 ml/1 tsp cayenne
-
450 g/1 lb Cheddar
cheese, grated
-
120 ml/1/2 cup
tomato relish
-
2 size 1
eggs, beaten
-
300 ml/1 1/4
cups milk
Butter
Method:
-
Sift the flour with the rice flour, baking powder,
salt, mustard and cayenne. Stir in three-quarters of
the cheese.

Add the tomato relish, the eggs and
enough milk to form a soft but not sticky dough.

Knead gently on a lightly floured surface and shape
into 12 rolls.

Place on a lightly greased baking
sheet brush with any remaining milk and sprinkle
with the remaining cheese.

Bake in the oven at
220°C/425°F/gas mark 7 for 20 minutes or until risen
and golden brown. Serve warm with butter.
