Cheese, Egg, and Cream Based Recipes - Egg and Macaroni Florentine

Ingredients  

  • 1 quantity Basic Macaroni Cheese

  • 350 g/12 oz/3 cups chopped frozen spinach

  • 4 hard-boiled (hard-cooked) eggs, quartered

  • Paprika


Method:

  1. Cook the macaroni and cheese sauce as for Basic Macaroni Cheese, but do not mix together.

  2. Cook the spinach according to the packet directions. Drain thoroughly and place in the base of an ovenproof dish.

  3. Cover with the macaroni, then the eggs. Spoon the cheese sauce over, sprinkle with paprika.

  4. Bake in the oven at 190C°/375°F/gas mark 5 for 25-30 minutes until bubbling and golden.
