Cheese, Egg, and Cream Based Recipes - Garlic and Herb Quickie

Ingredients                          

  • 225 g/8 oz/2 cups multicolored penne

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp corn flour (cornstarch)

  • 300 ml/1 1/4 cups milk

  • 15 g/1 tbsp butter

  • 80 g/3 1/2 oz/scant 1/2 cup garlic and herb cheese

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

  • Snipped chives


Method:

  1. Cook the pasta according to the packet directions. Drain.

  2. Whisk the corn flour with a little of the milk in a saucepan. Stir in the remaining milk and add the butter.

  3. Bring to the boil, stirring until thickened. Add the cheese and stir over a gentle heat until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. Add the pasta, toss well and serve garnished with the chives.
