Dessert Recipes - Greek-style Green Fig Spinners

Ingredients

  • 75 g/4 cup ruote

  • 425 g/15 oz/1 large can green figs in syrup

  • 5 ml/1 tsp corn flour (cornstarch)

  • 300 ml/1 1/4 cups Greek-style plain yoghurt

  • Clear honey


Method:

  1. Cook the pasta in plenty of boiling water for about 15 minutes until really soft. Drain, rinse with cold water and drain again.

  2. Meanwhile, drain the figs, reserving the juice. Blend a little of the juice with the corn flour in a saucepan.

  3. Stir in the remaining juice. Bring to the boil and cook for 1 minute, stirring. Leave to cool.

  4. Roughly chop the figs and add to the pasta with the fig juice sauce. Mix well.

  5. Divide between 4 individual dishes and top with yoghurt. Top the yoghurt with a swirl of honey and chill before serving.
