Turkey Spirals Recipe

 

Ingredients

  • 4 thinly sliced turkey breasts steaks (about 90g each)

  • 20ml/4 tsp tomato puree

  • 15g/1/2 oz large fresh basil leaves

  • 1 garlic clove, crushed

  • 15ml/1 tbsp skimmed milk

  • 25g/1 oz whole meal flour

  • salt and ground black pepper

  • passata or fresh tomato sauce and pasta with fresh basil, to serve

Serves 4


Method:

  1. Place the turkey steaks on a board. If too thick, flatten them slightly by beating with a rolling pin.

  2. Spread each turkey breast steak with tomato puree, then top with a dew leaves of bail, a little crushed garlic, and salt and pepper.

  3. Roll up firmly around the filling and secure with a cocktail stick. Brush with milk and sprinkle with flour to coat lightly.

  4. Place the spirals on foil-lined grill pan. Cook under a moderately hot grill for 15-20 minutes, turning them occasionally, until thoroughly cooked.

  5. Serve hot, sliced with a spoonful or two of passata or fresh tomato sauce and pasta, sprinkle with fresh basil.
