Soups and Sandwiches Recipes - Scotchburgers

Ingredients    

  • 1 17 1/4-oz. package Pepperidge Farm Frozen Puff Pastry Sheets

  • 2 lbs. lean ground beef

  • 1/2 cup chopped celery

  • 2 Tbs. instant minced onion

  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley

  • 1/4 tsp. sage

  • 1/4 tsp. salt

  • 1/8 tsp. pepper

  • 1 cup Pepperidge Farm Corn Bread Stuffing

  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt or sour cream

  • 1 egg, beaten

Makes 8 servings


Method:

  1. Thaw pastry 20 minutes, then unfold sheets. Cut each sheet into 4 squares.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly mix beef, celery, onion, parsley, sage, salt, pepper and stuffing. Stir in yogurt or sour cream until mixture is bound together.

  3. Shape mixture into 8 generous size meat patties. Broil patties on each side for 3-4 minutes or until brown. Cool. Drain on paper towels.

  4. On a lightly floured board, roll out each square of pastry about 1 1/2 inches larger than meat patties. Set the patties in center of square and fold pastry over meat, sealing edges in the center.

  5. Place seam side down on a baking sheet and brush with beaten egg. Bake in preheated oven (400°F.) for 20 minutes. Serve hot or cold.
