1 2/3 cups/400 g Tomato Sauce, store-bought or homemade
(refer recipe)
1 cup/125 g freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp finely chopped basil
1 tsp dried oregano
Method:
Prepare the pizza dough and set aside to rise. When
the rising time has elapsed, knead the dough again until
smooth and elastic.
Divide into 12 pieces and shape
into balls. Cover with a cloth and let rise for 15
minutes.
Roll the dough balls out on a lightly floured
surface into 1/4inch (5-mm) thick rounds. The edges
should be slightly higher than the center.
Heat the
oil in a large frying pan to very hot. Fry the pizzas
in small batches until golden, spooning the oil over
them. This will help them swell up. Drain well on
paper towels.
Cut a slice into the sides of the pizzas
and spoon in the tomato sauce. Sprinkle with the
Parmesan, basil, and oregano and serve hot.
