Garbanzo Bean Snacks

 

Ingredients

 

Serve 6

  • 4 cups/600 g garbanzo bean/chick pea flour

  • 2 quarts/2 liters water

  • 3/4 cup/180 ml extra-virgin olive oil

  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste


Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F/200°C/gas 6. Set out a large nonstick roasting pan.

  2. Sift the flour into a large bowl and make a well in the center. Use a wooden spoon to gradually stir in enough water to form a thick pouring batter.

  3. Add the oil and season with salt and pepper. Pour the batter into the pan, filling to depth of 1/4 inch (5mm).

  4. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until a thin crust forms on the surface. Transfer to a serving dish and season with pepper. Serve hot.
