Spiced Yogurt Dip

 

Ingredients

 

Serve 4

  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped

  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)

  • 1 cup/250ml thick plain yogurt

  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1 tsp finely chopped coriander

  • cayenne pepper, to garnish

  • chopped cilantro/coriander, to garnish


Method:

  1. Sauté the garlic, turmeric, and salt in the ghee in a small saucepan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, or until the garlic is lightly cooked.

  2. Add the yogurt, 1/2 tsp paprika, and cilantro to the pan and cook for 5 minutes. Let cool.

  3. Sprinkle with the extra paprika and chopped cilantro to garnish.

  4. Serve chilled or at room temperature with tortilla chips, crackers, pappadams, or toast.
